In 2019, HEKS/EPER implemented 248 aid projects in Switzerland and 32 other countries for a total of 63 million Swiss francs. With the generous support of countless donors - they contributed 21 million francs - HEKS/EPER was also able to make a significant contribution to improving the living conditions of almost one million people worldwide. The HEKS/EPER Annual Report 2019, with its 28 richly illustrated pages in colour, provides an overview of the many and varied projects being run by HEKS/EPER in Switzerland and abroad, and also gives the beneficiaries themselves a voice. The financial report provides detailed information about the balance sheet and the operating accounts for the past financial year.
In 2019, «Bread for All» placed an emphasis on the fight against climate change. In Indonesia, we supported training for residents in particularly vulnerable regions to enable them to better protect themselves from the consequences of climate change. The first Climate Conversations jointly organized by Bread for All and Fastenopfer in German-speaking Switzerland elicited great interest: people are pooling their efforts in small groups to find individual ways and solutions for reducing their ecological footprint. Bread for All was also able to report positive financial results for 2019. Despite a slight decline in donations received, total income rose thanks to a number of generous bequests.
